Student Advisory Service
The Student Advisory Service at University of Bayreuth offers consultations regarding study decisions, personal problems, and other concerns regarding your degree. They will also make sure to refer you to people that can assist you in case they are not able to help right away. You can find an overview with all relevant links about their services here. The Student Advisory Service offers an Open Zoom Consultation Hour. You can also reach them by phone or visit them directly.
Welcome Services at the International Office
Welcome Services at the University of Bayreuth provides guidance and support for all international students, scholars, and their families before, during, and after their stay at the University of Bayreuth. The Welcome Services make sure that you make the most out of your time in Bayreuth by offering courses, trainings, and guidance. They offer language courses, workshops, and intercultural training. For any inquiries, you can use their contact form.
Welcome Service Point
The Welcome Service Point is a joint project by the City of Bayreuth and our Welcome Services at University of Bayreuth. They are here to help you get started in Bayreuth and make your new beginning a smooth transition. Our Welcome Services are here to assist you with any questions regarding living and working in the Region of Bayreuth. You can reach them by phone or pass by their office in the city center.
Studying with disabilities
The University of Bayreuth also offers help to students with disabilities. Becks is your contact point for all questions related to studying with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses and are looking forward to meeting you in person. The consultation is always confidential, independent, and free of charge.
Family-Friendly University
One of the key priorities of the University of Bayreuth is to consolidate a university culture that is especially open to the needs of families. This is based on our conviction that family is of central significance to nurturing a community characterized by social responsibility. Our university offers child-care services and our on-campus nursery accommodates 24 children up to 3 years of age.
Free Legal Counseling
We certainly do not hope that you run into any legal troubles while in Bayreuth. However, if you find yourself needing help with legal issues, our Studentenwerk Oberfranken offers a free legal consultation for students. They assist you with tenant issues, contract law and work law. Please note that they cannot help with any Visa issues. For Visa-related issues, please see Welcome Service Point or Welcome Services.
Library Courses
Our library offers great opportunities to work and research. The services span over diverse topics, such as searching for literature, obtaining research literature, reference management tools, academic publishing, research data management and bibliometrics. Additional to interdisciplinary courses and workshops we also offer to arrange courses and workshops specifically tailored to different subject areas. You can ask at the front desk of each library for more specific information.
